He is Founder and CEO of Northrise Energy, a privately-held energy advisory firm. Rodney Schmidt has more than 30 years of experience in the global energy and financial industries. Laura has a BA in International Relations from Brown University, an MBA in finance from The Wharton School, and is a LEED AP. She has also advanced sustainability within her community as a co-founder of the Sustainable Business Council Los Angeles and as a member of the Santa Monica Sustainable City Task Force. John holds a joint JD/MBA from Stanford University’s Law School and Graduate School of Business and dual degrees in Economics and Political Science, cum laude, from the University of California, San Diego, Revelle College. ![]() Earlier in his career, John worked in the Silicon Valley as a venture and growth equity investor with Canaan Partners and as a corporate attorney with Brobeck Phleger & Harrison. Constantz on carbon mineralization projects since 2005.For over 18years, he was Managing Director and Co-Head of M&A Advisory Services for Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., where he assisted in the execution of complex growth capital and M&A transactions representing in excess of $6 billion in value. Prior to joining Blue Planet, John served as a Senior Advisor to its board of directors on capital markets and corporate strategy and has worked with Dr. Chaparro has an over 30-year background as an operating executive and strategic advisor in high growth enterprises across industrial, software and medical technology industries. Constantz has been awarded many grants from governments, including the US, and has testified before both the US Senate and the House of Representative about solutions to Climate Change. In 2012, he brought a new discovery of basic biomineralization to a scalable solution address climate change in an economically and technically sustainable manner. In 2007, he launched his efforts to address climate change by sequestering anthropogenic carbon dioxide in building materials. Constantz discovered the basic process used by corals to form their skeletons in the 1980s, upon which he based modern biological bone cements which are found in orthopedic operating rooms worldwide. He is a Consulting Associate Professor at Stanford University, where he teaches biomineralization. ![]() Constantz has over 100 US patents and another 100 pending.
